Activities will be varied, safe and stimulating.
Whilst selecting and providing activities and equipment, staff will pay attention to the risk of gender stereotyping
and to include a variety of cultural differences.
Where possible children will be given the opportunity to be involved in the choice and planning of activities.
Activities will be flexible and consideration will be given for quiet and noisy periods
Activities will follow a wide range of topics and extend children's interest and knowledge
The activities planned will be appropriate for the age and development stage of the children involved and should
not lead to frustration or a sense of failure. Participation should lead to a sense of achievement.

Cooked lunches are prepared on the premises and will be served at 12.00
Children's medical and personal dietary requirements are respected.
All meals and snacks provided are nutritious and offer variety and where possible will be organic. Menus are planned
in advance and care will be taken to provide a healthy, balanced diet
Children will be encouraged to develop good table manners and encouraged to try everything but never forced to eat
Mid morning and afternoon snacks are provided free of charge and include a choice of milk, juice or water
and biscuits and fruit.

Staff will work with parents to introduce and settle a child into the nursery
Children will be given adequate time and support needed to settle
Parents are encouraged to visit the Nursery with there child, at least once, prior to the child attending
Staff will reassure parents by giving them information about their child's activities and welfare during attendance
If a child is distressed or unable to settle, parents will be contacted

We request that all children are supplied with a toothbrush, a pair of slippers or plimsols for indoors, suitable clothing for all weathers,
including Wellington boots in wet weather.
